Mukesh Chhabra, one of Bollywood's biggest casting directors, is seriously peeved. With good reason.
You see, someone impersonating Mukesh has been making calls to aspiring actors as well as established stars, asking them to audition for a leading producer's project.
Mukesh got wind of this yesterday morning when several of his friends alerted him. By evening, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap too posted about it on his Facebook page. "Beware! Somebody claiming to be Mukesh Chhabra is messaging actors from +1 (626) 370-9053. Kindly refrain from engaging with him. Neither Mr Chhabra nor any member of MCCC is associated with this," he wrote.
As soon as the casting director heard about this mischief-maker, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
"My team and I tried calling on the number. Initially, there was a ring on the other side, and eventually, the number was switched off. The person pitched projects, and asked girls and boys to come for auditions," he told SpotboyE.com.
Mukesh even filed a complaint with the Versova Police Station. "The cops have assured me that they will nab the impersonator. It's scary and ridiculous that this person, whoever he is, knows what I'm doing," concludes Mukesh.
